IPR6: Lesson plan on narrative writing using CALL

School: Tema Methodist Day Senior High Class size: 35 Duration: 2hrs Class: SHS 1

Aspect: Composition Writing

 

Learning objectives:

 

By the end of the lesson, the student will be able to:

 

·         Access the computer and retrieve information from online and other digital sources.

·         type at least a one-page essay with good line and paragraph spacing using Microsoft office word document

·         Send typed documents via emails or on other social media platforms like whatsApp and telegram.

 

Pre-writing stage

 

Ø  Using questioning and answering technique, teacher asks students to talk about a movie they have watched and also narrate an incident they have witnessed

Ø  Teacher projects a 5-minute silent film in class and asks students to watch with rapt attention

Ø  Teacher puts students in groups of 5 and time them while they discussed among themselves the concept of the short film.

Ø  Learners discuss their findings with their group members.

 

Writing stage

Teacher tasks students to type a one paragraph essay narrating what they think is the concept of the film they watched in class using Microsoft office word. (times new roman, font size 12, single spacing)

 

Post writing stage

Learners proofread their group members work and share their typing experiences with one another.

Assessment Procedure - Scoring Points (10marks)

 For good spacing, right font and font size. Students get extra points for correct grammatical constructions and less for grammatical errors

Submission
