Meteors-noun  meaning: falling star /shooting star example: she ripped through the sky like a meteor In stanza 5, the poet uses these lines; "Grave men can see with "blinding sight, Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay". Meteors emit light. The use of meteors here by Thomas means that the "grave men" towards their deaths can look back on their lives and see it with extreme clarity .
